PROGRESSIVE DISCIPLINE PROCESS
Progressive discipline is an approach that makes use of a continuum of interventions, supports, and consequences, building upon strategies that promote positive behaviors. The range of interventions, supports, and consequences used will be clear and developmentally appropriate and will include learning opportunities for students in order to reinforce positive behaviors and help students succeed. For students with disability related needs, interventions, supports and consequences will be consistent with the expectations in the student’s Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or their demonstrated abilities.
Discipline Team will be assessing ALL discipline referrals forwarded to the attendance office and will be seeking your assistance in rectifying student behavioral issues. We will be requesting for the teacher to follow the established Progressive Discipline Process. The teacher must complete the process before the referral is written and forwarded to the advisors. Referrals that do not have the record of practiced Progressive Discipline will be sent back to the teacher.
Administration reserves the right to determine consequences based on the seriousness of a particular infraction and or/ previous discipline record of the student who commits the offense.

The governing board wishes to provide all the protection implicit in “due process”, and all staff members are expected to accord due process rights to all students (Education Code 48911, 48914, 48915).
